ALEXANDRIA, VA (April 23, 2012) In March, 2012, Innovate was awarded a grant from the National Spatial Data Infrastructure Cooperative Agreements Program (NSDI CAP) for approximately $30,000. The NSDI CAP, which is administered by the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC), supports projects that assist the geospatial community in implementing the National Spatial Data Infrastructure. In this project Innovate will develop a recommended migration route from the FGDC CSDGM metadata standard to the latest ISO metadata standard for the US EPA and State of Idaho metadata clearinghouses. By leveraging the history, background and experience of each of these agencies, this project will create a model for metadata transition that other groups across the US can follow. Innovate’s official 10 year anniversary took place Thursday March 1, 2012. Lily Thomas, President, had the following to say about the 10 year milestone:
“When we started Innovate back in 2002, we had big dreams of becoming a “green” consulting firm, making a difference in the industry, making a difference in the world, and being a company that people could rely on. Now 10 years later, we have clients such as EPA, NOAA and USGS and prime contractors such as SRA, Accenture, CGI, Booz Allen, and CSC who continually renew their contracts with us, because of our “human-touch,” reliability, and personal commitment and caring. There are hundreds of other consulting firms they could hire, but Innovate has garnered a reputation of being personally invested and committed to seeing our clients succeed. That’s what sets us apart. We are truly blessed and grateful to all that have helped Innovate achieve this.”
