Innovate Senior GIS Analyst Jared Yost presented “Leveraging ESRI’s ArcGIS GeoPlanner for Suitability Modeling” at this year’s Washington GIS Association (WAGISA) conference. WAGISA is a non-profit association of GIS and information technology professionals that supports and encourages professional growth within the GIS community. WAGISA brings together professionals from across the state to share their experiences and learn about current trends and technologies. The annual conference attracts over 300 registrants each year from all over Washington.
This year WAGISA22 featured over thirty sessions and workshops on industry-relevant topics: new apps, exposure to emerging technologies, and the evolving relationship between GIS and public policy. Building out your own model and using your own data sources can be challenging. In “Leveraging ESRI’s ArcGIS GeoPlanner for Suitability Modeling,” Jared demonstrated how ESRI's GeoPlanner is a great tool to allow users to try different scenarios, can help fill gaps in decision-making models, and shared tips and tricks to make your journey toward using this application easier.
